By transforming the land into flourishing meadowland, we are creating a vital habitat for pollinators and other species that depend on flower-rich landscapes. The meadowland and a combination of various shrub species also helps reduce erosion and enhances the experience for those spending time in the area. Additionally, we have implemented several other key measures on the property. For instance, we are now preparing the plateau for a potential solar park that could contribute to sustainable energy production in the future. To improve access to the area, serpentine roads have been built, and a ditch has been dug to protect the property from flooding. Lastly, the slope is being reinforced against erosion and landslides through stone clearing and the planting of wildflowers.
This project marks Catena’s largest biodiversity initiative to date within our existing property portfolio, both in terms of area and scope. The project is being carried out in collaboration with contractor and sand cultivation expert Peter Klinta from Klinta Trädgård. The work on-site is now complete, and we eagerly look forward to seeing the results take shape over the coming year.
