Choice of materials is important

At Catena, we integrate sustainable materials and construction methods into our property projects. An example of this is the Björröd 1:208 property in Härryda, where we have chosen glulam (glue-laminated timber) to reduce energy consumption and environmental impact. The property, which is leased to Liseberg, demonstrates our commitment to sustainable construction.

At Catena, we are constantly striving to integrate more sustainable materials and construction methods into our property projects. One such example is our property Björröd 1:208, located in Härryda Municipality, where we have chosen to build the structure using glulam. Glulam, a refined form of wood, offers several environmental benefits that make it an attractive option in the construction industry.

Building with wood means, among other things, that the processing of the material is significantly more energy-efficient compared to other building materials. Additionally, the energy consumption during the construction process itself is lower than in traditional building, resulting in a smaller environmental impact from start to finish.

The property in question is currently leased to the amusement park Liseberg, one of Gothenburg's most famous and beloved landmarks. This project not only exemplifies our commitment to sustainable construction but also demonstrates how modern construction techniques can meet the demands of both tenants and the environment.

From an environmental and sustainability perspective, this solution is highly interesting.

Jonas Arvidsson, Regional Manager West at Catena

By exploring and implementing alternative material choices, such as glulam, we at Catena continue to lead the way in sustainable construction. We see this as part of our long-term goal not only to develop properties that meet today’s demands but also to prepare them for the challenges of the future.
