High-bay warehouse at Logistics Position Tostarp

The high-bay warehouse of third-party logistics provider Nowaste Logistics in Helsingborg is an exciting example of how tight time margins demand more from everyone, but can also exceed all expectations.

Nowaste provides its customers with tailored logistics solutions, including proprietary automation and IT systems, supported by experienced logistics personnel. Their clientele includes well-known brands such as Home Furnishing Nordic, Atria, Bolist, Brothers, Polarn O. Pyret, Björn Borg, Panduro, Coolstuff, and Everfresh. In 2018, Nowaste became a tenant at Logistics Position Tostarp outside Helsingborg, with its distinctive warehouse featuring an eye-catching facade design.

Catena and we exceeded all expectations. Catena's ability to unite everyone’s efforts and foster engagement, even under time pressure, was key to our success

- Jesper Brandin, Sales Manager at Nowaste Logistics

With a successful business model and many interested customers, Nowaste in Helsingborg decided to have Catena construct a high-bay warehouse next to its large warehouse at Logistics Position Tostarp. The initiative was partly speculative, as not all customers were contracted when construction began.

Today, the high-bay warehouse is one of the most modern e-commerce facilities in the Nordics. The 11,000 sqm warehouse houses 105 automated shuttles (OSR), picking stations, goods reception, and package sorting. When clothing companies Polarn O. Pyret and Brothers became contracted customers in this state-of-the-art terminal, the timeline tightened, and the pressure increased on both construction and the installation of IT and automation in the building. Moving goods and establishing routines was a meticulous task.

Through strong collaboration between Nowaste as the client and Catena as the project leader, all suppliers were given a unified platform to work from, and the high-bay warehouse was inaugurated ahead of schedule, with all functions fine-tuned in good time. The project was thus completed in record time, with only 12 months from signing to operational start.
