With Catena acquiring land for SEK 189 million, the development of Logistics Position Landvetter can now commence

The detailed development plan adopted by the Municipality of Härryda in November has now gained legal force. This entails implementation of Catena’s land acquisitions in the airport area, allowing development of Logistics Position Landvetter to commence.

In 2019, Catena signed a land allocation agreement with the Municipality of Härryda regarding the Dansered 1:64 property, adjacent to Gothenburg Landvetter Airport along national route 40. The council of the Municipality of Härryda reached its decision regarding the land transaction with Catena in connection with a zoning plan gaining legal force. In total, the site encompasses 210,000 m2 of land for a purchase consideration of SEK 189 million. The acquisition facilitates construction of logistics facilities with an estimated lettable area of 95,000 m2 for an investment of approximately SEK 800 million in the longer term.

The ambition is to construct high-profile logistics facilities subject to exacting demands in terms of architecture and sustainability. Among other things, the facilities to be constructed by Catena at the site will be certified in accordance with BREEAM Very Good, and several initiatives for biological diversity in the area are being planned.

In Catena’s assessment, the area around the Landvettermotet motorway interchange has the potential of becoming one of Sweden’s foremost logistics hubs. The location is optimal for transhipments of products and goods supplying, in part, the Gothenburg region and, in part, the rest of the Nordic region, with nearby access to motorways, a port and an airport.

“We perceive substantial demand in the region, where key transport routes merge and where unique expertise in logistics and transport is available. By developing and managing the new facilities carefully, we will be able to contribute to a more sustainable logistics network in the long term, one to match the needs stemming from shifting trade and consumption patterns and meeting the demands imposed on modern and attractive workplaces,” says Jonas Arvidsson, Regional Manager for Gothenburg at Catena.
