Today, Catena broke ground on its latest project at Logistics Position Sunnanå, near Malmö – an air cargo facility for DHL Express.
26 November 2019, 5:00 p.m.
Logistics Position Sunnanå is optimally situated for logistics, directly adjacent to an exit from national route 11 and just 300 metres from the exit from the E6/E20 motorway, just outside Malmö, which also forms part of the Greater Copenhagen area. The new building, of a total 10,162 square metres, now being erected for DHL Express will sit alongside the DHL terminal that was the first facility established by Catena at the site.
“It is very gratifying to have broken ground on this project. We have ambitious climate targets at DHL and transferring to an even more energy-efficient logistics facility that we have prepared for future electrification of the vehicle fleet is one of many measures we are taking to achieve our targets for the future. The new facility will also further improve our quality of service for customers, additionally strengthening our market position,” says Peter Ervasalo, Managing Director of DHL Express, Sweden.
“This new construction project for DHL Express’ continues our development of Logistics Position Sunnanå, which, uniquely situated for transport both inside and outside Sweden, forms a central hub for current and future flows of goods,” says Jörgen Eriksson, Catena’s Regional Manager in Malmö.
The tenant is scheduled to move in during the autumn of 2020. Facilities have already been established at the site for Chefs Culinar, Svensk Cater, DS Smith, DHL Supply Chain and Lekia.
